Essentially, this is Part-A of the form.

ü  The portal will need to confirm the information you entered, therefore you will get an email or one-time password as confirmation.

ü  After the confirmation, you will be asked to provide a few documents as to the type of business you are operating.

ü  Upload the documents, you provide a few details in Part B of the application, and you will receive the Application Reference Number by email or SMS.

ü  The application will then be verified by a GST officer, and depending on whether it is approved or not, additional information or documentation may be required until the authorities have all the information they need to authorize the application.

ü  If a trader has branches in various states, separate registration must be completed for each one. Businesses with many verticals can register for each one separately.

ü  After verifying all the documents, the officer issues the GSTIN and GST certificate.
